OK ...No.... Wait This is My favourite.....

I made this in 2 1/2 hours. Its called the Faith Dress and it comes from SewSensible.Mike was watching the footy and I sewed! I love love love this and I haven't been able to fit it yet as Lainey is asleep. She just couldn't hang out long enough to try it on!

The back bow straps will need shortening and i want to check the length on Lainey but I love it. The top layer fabric came from a bundle of things my MIL gave me when I started sewing. Its the most gorgeous fabric. Its like a linen type fabric, the pink is cotton. I wasn't all that sure about the pink matching too well but it did and well here it is.....

Close up of the fabric

Well what do you think!!!! - I must say I do know one flaw and that is that 95% of the girls are upside down. I thought they were all of different angles and that it didn't matter but obviously it does!!! But I STILL LOVE IT!!!!!!

My Favourite So far

I love this outfit sooooo much. The fabric is cotton and was $2 per metre at Spotlight. The pants need a little tweaking - I actually used a TopKids mag for it and when you copy them you are supposed to add a seam allowance. I only remembered that about 1/2 way through! So I guess you could say they are a prototype...for example there wasn't enough fabric on the cut out pieces to make a folded over hem. So these will be a home set and I will make better the next ones. I hate Lainey having her nappy hanging out so a good bloomers pattern was exactly what I needed! (pardon the tacky lino in the pic above...gotta love the way they decorate teachers/principals houses in the country!)

Now onto something thats been cut out for ages!

Blog Binge

Ok ok well here I am finally. I decided that sick kids and no sleep or not I needed to blog my creations!

Lainey was not impressed to be dressed and redressed to model this gear as she is super sick with runny nose etc etc all thanks to her brother! So you must excuse the looks she may be giving in the pics! Also the pics are awful but you get that!

Here are some pjs I did last night...

Here is the Burda top I thought I didnt like but I do and I have another cut and ready to sew....

And here she is in her pink pinny - it started life as a different looking pattern but I like the way it ended up!

Mike is on his way home from a conference in Perth and his mum got me some fabric at spotlight. Microfleece with Thomas and Cars on it - $2 a metre....bargain! Cant wait to see it!

I also received some more patterns i bought and am waiting for some fabric I bought on eBay! I also ordered the latest Ottobre and a back issue - 04/2004, which people say is a must to have...so I did!!!

Ok ...oh I also made green trackkies for Jack...pretty plain though.

Right off to tidy up

6 Random Things

Ok...Ive been tagged! Thanks to the lovely Marns from http://simplymarns.blogspot.com/ for the tag...I now have to write 6 random things about myself. The rules are:
1. Link to the person who “tagged” you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post.
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know your entry is up.

Okey dokey here we go:

1. I served 2 1/2 years in the Australian Defence Force in the Royal Australia Corps of Military Police. I reached the rank of Lance Corporal but after an injury sustained in basic training flared I required a shoulder recon and that was the end of that! Do I miss it..not as much as I used to.

2. I actually fell in love with my husband one week after my discharge and the moment I met him. Gooey I know but we have never been apart (as in the relationship sense) after that day 11 years ago.

3. Mike and I are "professional gypsies", meaning we move alot! He is a primary school principal and we move on average every 2 years. I only have 2 good mates and thats the reason why I think. One lives in Bunbury and the other in Perth. I would be lost without them.

4. I was not the first person to hold my son when he was born. In fact everyone in my family did before me. Its something I will never ever get back. I was pretty doped up and after he was born (by c section) Mike held him first ( and that was perfect) and then they took him away to the nursery and by the time I was with it and able to come back to the room everyone else had held him but me. That still makes me cry three years on.

5. I cant have a jar of peanut butter in the house or I will eat it with a spoon...till its empty....

6. I love living in the country - I feel blessed and privileged to be a part of the way of life out here and I dont know if I can go back to the city! Its a totally unique way of life! Beats traffic lights and hustle and bustle!!

Ok now for the people to tag.....I will have to hunt around for some people who haven't been tagged. I dont know anyone else who has a blog except for the people in my sewing group! So I will hunt tomorrow!!

Now off to bed.... thank god its the weekend..I love it when Mike is home.

Im going to add pics tomorrow of Lainey in her new clothes. She will look gorgeous! She took her first steps yesterday. Ok well only two and then she fell but we are on our way.

Ok off to bed...
