Knit-a-long for Charity

2009 is the year of many things for me...one being that I am going to be more involved in my community. I have organised a Knit-a-long for Charity over at Crafty Mamas . Its to knit beanies for wildlife and also teddies for the St Johns and Royal Flying Doctors Service. The RFDS is particularly important to me a Jack was flown to Princess Margaret Hospital for surgery by them at 2 weeks old.

The a-long runs for the month of February and once the items are knitted you send them in yourself. If you would like to get involved come on over to Crafty Mamas, introduce yourself and get involved. It only takes a small act to make this a better place for all.

Craft It Forward

I saw this post over at Life In Mono - the blog of fellow Brown Owl Prefect Feli, and decided this was an activity for me!

The first 8 people who make comments on this blog post will get something from me. The rules are as follows:-

1. What I create will be personalized and intended for you.
2. It’ll be done this year (2009).
3. You will have no idea what it’s going to be. It may be knitted, sewn, embroidered, papercrafted, beaded, waxed, or even a mix CD. I might even bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that’s for sure!

The catch is that you have to do the same thing over on your blog too.

So....post a comment and see what comes your way!

1. Feli
2. Marie at Quirky Threads
3. Krys at Two Vegan Boys
4. Connie at Lawless Wild Things
5. Amanda at Amanda's Blog
6. Jemma at amityvillebaronia
7.Suzanne at see suzie sew
8.

Look Who Came Knocking on My Door This Morning

These are the softies that I received from Tracy in our swap at Crafty Mamas.

Isn't she adorable, and I just love the house that opens up and two more little characters come out. I'm going to put her on the dresser for now, and when Lainey is a bit older she can play with them...for now..I just want to admire them!

Rain Rain Go Away

Tonight we almost floated away. It started with a thunder storm and ended with the kennel floating away. I have never seen so much rain....I will update you with mms when I know them...and it hasnt stopped although it has slowed down...

And The Winner Is....

I was given this blog award today from Samantha over at Jetta Nest

Proximidade is described as:
'This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes for self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers!'

This blog award should be sent to your favorite eight bloggers and they, in turn should forward to eight of their favorites. You should include the text for Proximidade (above) in your announcement blog.

I hereby award the following blogs this lovely award:
Hoppo Bumpo
The Mad Quilter
The Princess and the Monkey

with more to follow....

How nice to receive such an award - especially from a peer.

Australia Day Long Weekend

We have all just rolled home from a lovely long weekend camping in Busselton with Mikes parents. We stayed at Camp Grace which was a lovely little camp site tucked away on the Golden Mile - the stretch of camp grounds owned by different religious groups. We had the most amazing weekend. It was so much fun I would go again tomorrow. The kids slept together in a tent and did wonderfully well. We swam, had BBQs and checked out Dunsborough. Mikes parents have decked out a camper van and this was the inaugural trip.

Thanks to my wonderful family for a wonderful weekend.
