Another Jacket - Enid Style
I love this pattern...its so nice and feminine and also easy! I also the love the fabric! Kaufman cord...yummo. I was going to make a matching skirt but the cord I had I didn't think went well and too much of the jacket material was a bit over bearing. I made it for the June comp at Crafty Mamas.

Enid Gilchrist Sew-a-Long
Over at Crafty Mamas we have been doing an Enid sew-a-long. This is what I chose - its called Jacket for Those Cooler Days from Enid Gilchrist's Baby Book pg 46.
It has been made with pink baby cord and a maroon cord I got from Textile Traders really cheap (it was marked as bleeding fabric so I soaked it in salt and washed the heck out of it and it doesnt bleed anymore ) I hand stitched the cuff facings and also along the hem along the bottom. Instead of bias binding I used satin ribbon, I didn't have the right size binding...
The collar isn't perfect at the back but I'm happy with it. Its the second real collar Ive done, the first one properly!
I am going to make a little skirt to go with it I think - it should be nice and warm for my little girl!

Enid Inspired
Tracy - from Desert Rose Designs and Crafty Mamas is a HUGE Enid Gilchrist fan. The biggest I know.
She has set up a blog to which people who feel the love for Enid can contribute. Its called Enid Inspired and I am a contributor.....get over there and see what I made today!

My First Enid!
Finally I have done it...from start to finish including drafting the pattern. My first Enid!
I chose something I though looked easy and this was just one pattern piece. It is the Nightgown for Tiny Tots from Undies, Beach and Sleep Wear.
It is a size 1-2 yo and I drafted the pattern as it says too, but I did fins I had to take it in alot for Lainey who is 20 months. I could have taken it in some more except for the fact that it was starting to distort a bit. As time goes on I will get a true feel for the sizing.
That being said I am extremely proud and cant wait to get all the proper drafting tools I have on order at Crafty Mamas to arrive so I can really get into it!
Oh - the fabric is a flannelet bed sheet from the oppy! This nightgown was almost free!
