And The Winner Is....

We went to the York Show today and had a wonderful day. And to top it off I won 2 categories and placed second in another!!!! My banana cake won as did the Kaufman Cord jacket I sewed. The Feliz came second. I was so happy I cried!

It was a wonderful day with the pavilion to look through where Jack had a display from school, animals to pet, rides for the kids and of course plenty to eat!

After some yummy pizza for tea we went back to the oval and watched the firework. They were magnificent and such good fun. The kids loved them.

We had a wonderful day and next year I am definitely entering again!

The Feliz

Here it is...the Feliz...it almost killed me but I think I won in the end. Its a beautiful pattern and dress and I have seen some amazing finished pieces. This is for the York Show. Im nor sure how it will go...but hey - have to start somewhere!

The fabric is stash material from SL and the pattern is of course from Crafty Mamas!

York Show 2009

I have decided this year to enter a couple of sewing pieces into the York Show. I am also going to bake a cake to enter as well.

This is the first of the pieces - its for the category of childrens sleepwear. I used the pattern new Look 6334 view C in a size three (which is the smallest in the pack).

I know it need s a good press but im not going to do that until the night before I hand it in so that is fresh and ready to go. I had a hard time with the sleeves and in the end simply lined the armhole with lace. I found the rest of it fairly easy going but I put a lot of time in the finish as I presume they will indeed look on the inside LOL.

I have Lainey modelling here because I wanted to see what it looked like on but its too big for her - so she will have a very sweet pair of jammies for next summer.

Thats the main construction done for all three pieces. I also have done a Feliz for the childs frock category and I am going to enter the Kaufman Strawberry jacket I made a couple of months ago. I need ot hem the Feliz and take the sleeves up n the jacket. Press the dress and jammies and Im done.

How exciting - I wonder how I will fair!
