Tuesday night I was sitting on the couch and my tooth broke...yup..just plain old broke. No nerve was exposed thank goodness but it was enough to ensure I was in a mild state of panic until the next morning when I could get a dental appointment. I hate teeth issues - like I hate dislocations and broken bones...
The only appointment I could get was in Perth so I packed up the kids and headed off. I went into the city and had the tooth removed. It was a long and painful procedure culminating in the dentist (a very abrupt European woman!) having to cut and drill the tooth out. I was ok Wednesday night - Thursday morning I drove back to town in time for Jack to attend kindy and for me to keep my hairdressers appointment...but I wasnt able to take any pain meds before I drove so by the time I got home I was in agony. I took the medication and then spent the whole of the afternoon being sick. Oh it was horrible.
Anyway today I am ok..I have a massive wound in my mouth, and it feels as though someone has kicked me in the jaw but at least I can open my mouth now.
The motto of the story is go to the dentist on a regular basis. I have to go back and have another tooth either filled or pulled and then I should be on an even keel as they say.
But I have so much to look forward to with the holidays coming up. We are going away twice, going to the Royal Show, taking the kids to a number of great spots around Perth and Mike and I even have plans for dinner and a movie gold class style! So stay tuned all the holiday fun and frivolity.
