On ANZAC Day, Tuart Hill PS celebrated its 100th birthday and we were there to help! Mike and his brother and sister attended THPS and now his sister and mother work there!
Tuart Hill PS was opened on April 25th 1910 and still operates to this day. The school community put on an awesome day and Mike and I and the kids helped out with the sausage sizzle/hamburger stall.
The morning kicked off with the ANZAC Day service - followed by a ceremony for the birthday celebrations. Some ex students spoke as well as current students and politicians. There were rides and games and food and historical information for the crowds to enjoy. The school halls were decked out with interesting photos and information and the schools time capsule was opened for all to see. The time capsule was buried at the schools 75th celebrations - and Mike had a letter put in it!! It was so cool to see that!
We had a great day - the kids loved it and boy where they tuckered when we went home....as we all were!
