DIY Patterns

Today I started something I have been wanting to do for ages. I have deconstructed a top of mine - which I love but which is at retirement age - and am creating a pattern for it from the pieces I unpicked. It was a navy blue yoked top - a style I like and feel comfy in and I have pulled it apart, made pattern pieces and now I am going to attempt to recreate it in brown Colorado fabric. The yolk will be a nice contracting woven - similar to the same fabrics used in the original top.

I really want to master this skill as I am sick of patterns that dont fit me and need too much tweeking. So - lets let the mass producers do that hard yards...and hopefully it will be as simple as copying the piece.

Heres the start of the project.

I will let you know how it progresses...

I think if there is someone out there that can do it - it'd be you!
